About three weeks ago, Sony had released its flagship King and named it Sony Xperia 1 III.

Sony’s typical smartphone design, Sony Xperia 1 III, has a massive 6.5 inches screen with a 4k resolution. It provides an immersive 120hz of refresh rate, only built for enthusiasts.
Before going into details about the technical aspects of the phone, we have to give credit to Sony, as they are constantly innovating and advancing smartphone technology. Note: – Sony was the first company to offer a smartphone with a water-resistant display and 4k resolution.
Sony Xperia 1 III – Specs & Features:
The latest flagship phone from Sony comes with various advance and innovative features that can create this phone Best Of 2021.
We’ll discuss them one by one in this article and let you know each and everything about this beauty and why it’s an ultimate choice for enthusiasts.
Body Type & Features – Sony Xperia 1 III comes with a super satisfying frosted mat black – aluminum metal frame finish both on the back and the sides. Though it’s not improved a lot from its previous version named Sony Xperia II, you can hardly tell the difference when comparing them side by side.
The back of the phone is cover with Corning Gorilla Glass 6, which means you can hold your more securely (but we recommend using the back cover) and are less likely to get fingerprints.
On the right edge of the phone, incorporating space for the Power button (also acts as a fingerprint), volume rocker button, Camera shutter button (also use to open Camera software), and a fourth one is Google Assistant one-click button towards the bottom.
There is a dedicated sim-slot space on the left edge of the phone with an expandable storage option for a Micro SD card (1 TB).
3.5mm headset jack and USB-C connector placed on top and bottom, respectively. The Sony Xperia 1 III features three speakers on its top, bottom, and front sides.
It also uses IP65/ IP68 for dust and water resistance. It means you can leave the phone under the water of height 1.5m for 30 minutes.
Display Size & Screen – The display comes with 21:9 (aspect ratio) and an amazingly massive screen size that can be easily reachable by your fingers.
You can comfortably control the screen with one hand although, it has a screen of 6.5 inches.
Sony went all way forward and provided with 4k-HDR OLED panel with a 120hz of screen refresh rate. You can also choose between 60hz and 120hz of the display.
The main downside of having a 21:9 aspect ratio is not all apps are compatible with it, such as Instagram stories, TikToks, etc.
Hardware Specifications & CAMERA – Sony Xperia 1 III has the power and performance to rival any flagship smartphone on the market.
Featuring 12 GB of RAM, 256/512 GB of storage, Snapdragon 888 5G processor, Octa-core CPU, and Adreno 660 GPU. The Xperia 1 III achieved outstanding results in Geekbench 5: 1128 single-core and 3629 multicores.
There’s no doubt that Sony has a rich heritage as an imaging company, as they develop the camera models and provides them to other companies. Sony Xperia 1 III uses a quad-camera developed by the same team that developed the Alpha 9.
3 out of 4 cameras, as 12 MP, f/1.7, 24mm (wide), 12 MP, f/2.3, 70mm (telephoto), and 12 MP, f/2.2, 124˚, 16mm (ultrawide) are used to capture photos depending on different focal lengths. The 4th camera acts as the time of flight sensor.
They have put a lot of effort into the camera. Sony unlocked all the possibilities available within the world of mobile cameras.
You can switch between a Basic camera mode and all-out Sony Alpha camera mode. It contains detailed lists of features, such as zoom levels, autofocus, shooting formats, shutters & sliders, ISO, and all that. All the features are accessible at your fingertips with a super-responsive design.
Ending Notes:
Is it worth it? I don’t recommend this phone to everyone. Not many people are willing to pay $1300 for Sony smartphones. They can choose other great options too.
Sony Xperia 1 III provides an overall excellent product, packed with high-quality cameras, high video and audio quality, Snapdragon 5G processor, and Adreno 660 GPU. There’s a lot more to look into cameras. With a 4500mah battery, you have to carry an extra power brick with you. It’s because of the 4K display and 120hz refresh rate.
